In this love story cupid came in the form of their families who got them to exchange numbers and take a shot at love. On July 20 2019 Thomas decided to meet Lis for their first date in Richmond. Their first date started at a Thai restaurant with small talks and nervous laughs. As time passed they grew to enjoy each other's company so much that they extended the date to walk around the art museum and then the movies to see Spiderman Far From Home. This would be the first of many memories that they build together.

A trip to Italy was more than a dream for both Thomas and Lis. Thomas had spent a lot of time preparing for this day, searching for the right ring and talking with several photographers before he picked the one who would capture their moment. April 6th, 2023 the sky was clear, the sun was bright and the breeze was cool as Thomas and Lis walked up the street of the city of Florence to San Miniato al Monte for their couples photoshoot. Laura, their photographer, greeted them and walked them to the spot that will forever be remembered by both. Lis looked out to the city exclaiming at how breathtaking it was and aweing at how beautiful the day was. Thomas at this time looked at her and began with the words “I wanted to tell you something today…” his hands shook ever so slightly as he reached into his pocket to retrieve the ring, as to which she soon turned and faced him knowing this was the moment. Thomas continued to say “You know how among your friends they say we feel like that 'old couple'? Well, will you make that our reality and grow old with me?” Without skipping a beat Lis answered “YES!”
