Abby and Danny met back in 2020 at a party thrown by Abby and her roommates while living on Mt. Washington. Danny was in town with some friends for the party. The theme was Jersey Shore, so it was a party full of class and sophistication. Abby, dressed as Deena, spotted the tall, dark, and handsome Danny from across the room but was too nervous to approach him. As the night went on, Danny started to notice Abby’s dancing and wondered when he should make his first move. Later in the night, the two decided to get some fresh air out on the deck overlooking the city of Pittsburgh. They struck up a conversation while taking in the beautiful city lights. Danny left the following morning to drive back to his hometown of Philadelphia with his friends. Before he left, he made sure to get the number of the special woman from the party. Clearly, they kept in contact and began officially dating five months later. Abby and Danny took turns making the trek between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia for a little over two years. Long distance from the start created a strong foundation in their relationship. Danny made the move to Pittsburgh in January of 2023. Since then, they’ve lived together in a perfect little apartment north of the city. They enjoy cooking dinner together, growing an apartment garden, playing video games, and having movie nights with Chinese takeout. Danny also loves to surprise Abby by taking her downtown for musicals, the ballet, and trips to Phipps Conservatory. Phipps is where Danny popped the question on May 25, 2025. The couple spent the morning together by going to church and then to Kelly O’s for breakfast (iykyk). After breakfast, Danny surprised Abby by taking her to Phipps Conservatory. They both love the outdoors and nature, so it was the perfect place for the proposal. Danny set up his phone to capture a photo of the couple standing by giant flamingos made of flowers—but it turned out to be a video. As Abby readied herself for a self-timed photo, Danny got down on one knee and proposed. After the proposal, Danny surprised Abby again by taking her to Trace Brewing in Bloomfield, where their friends and family were waiting. It was the most perfect day, surrounded by love.
