FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP no later than May 1. You will find the RSVP tab at the top of this page after formal invitations have been sent.

Question

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

Cushing Fieldhouse is located at 14151 Fish Lake Road in Holly, MI. It is approximately 2 hours east of Grand Rapids and 50 minutes north of Ann Arbor. Google maps will bring you there, and signs will direct you to the parking lot. Be aware of traffic and construction delays during the summer months.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We ask that you plan on arriving at 3:30 so that you have time to make your way to the ceremony location and find your seat before the 4:00 pm ceremony start.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We kindly ask that our guests dress in garden formal. Florals, pastels, light suits, and elegant mid or long dresses are all perfect. Think classic wedding polish with a touch of garden party charm. High heels may sink into the lawn, so block heels or flats are great choices too.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony and cocktail hour will be held outside weather permitting. The reception will be indoors.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Your invitation will specify whether you have a plus one. Due to a capacity limit at our venue we are unable to accommodate additional guests. Thank you for understanding.

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

While we love your babies, toddlers, and little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only celebration. The only exceptions will be the children and families involved in our wedding ceremony. Thank you for understanding!

Question

Is Cushing Field House handicap accessible?

Answer

The venue itself is handicap accessible and features handicap accessible restrooms and no stairs. Please note, however, that our wedding and cocktail hour will be outdoors on various terrains that may be uneven: grass, gravel, stone.

Question

Should I book a hotel room?

Answer

We would love our guests to stay until the end of the reception (11 pm), and therefore we encourage everyone to book a hotel room nearby especially if you'll be enjoying some cocktails and dancing! We have reserved several blocks at hotels in Fenton and Grand Blanc. Click on our travel tab to reserve a room. After our block is full the hotel will only add more rooms if there is availability so book early to guarantee a room. Rooms need to be booked by May 26. There are also several Airbnbs in the area as well as camping. Click on our travel tab to learn more.

Question

What if I have a dietary restriction or food allergy?

Answer

There will be a section after you RSVP that allows you to send a note to the bride and groom. Please let us know in that section about your allergy/dietary restriction.
