WhatsApp & Master Phone List

Answer

We are asking all guest with a smartphone to download WhatsApp before you get to Europe so we can communicate with the group regarding any updates. If you need support with how to download, please ask someone under 25, they'll know the way and will get you together in a blink of an eye...lol We are putting together a master phone list for us to work off of including name, email and phone number. It just makes communicating with everyone easier. If this is something that you do not want to be apart of please let us know ASAP so we can remove you. Thanks in advance

What to Pack

Water Shoes-These are one of the most important items that will make your trip to Nice a joy. The beaches have rocks (a lot of rocks) so without the shoes it is very uncomfortable Sunscreen- Melanated people burn too. Mosquito Repellent- Cuz they love our sweet meat. Swim suit and/or trunks Comfortable walking shoes- this is a must. comfortable dressy shoe- the wedding and much of Old Town (and surrounding areas) have cobblestone, we would not suggest wearing your pointiest stilettos. Universal Adapter- Sorry I forgot about this one, it was brought to my attention by my sister-in-love. This is a MUST or you will not be able to charge anything. External charger- If you have a handheld charger to take with you in your bag in case you battery begins to die. You still need to have a universal charger though

Dropbox/ Social Media

Answer

Kevin or someone will create a dropbox folder (or something similar) for everyone to put photos and videos in. I think there is an Droxbox App to download so if you can do that in advance before you get to Europe that would be great. Kevin will put more information on this as he sets it up. We also will be using the #CaliLoveinNice for social media so when/if you want to tag us in pics this will also be a way that we can compile everyone's photos and videos.

Transportation

Answer

Transportation from the Airport in the Cote D Azur (Nice Airport) to Old Town Nice is pretty easy. Taxis at the Airport into town will be approx: 50-70 Euros and they are very safe, I would suggest not using them because they are about double in price from Uber and many of the taxis only take euros. Download the Uber App from your smart phone, France does not have Lyft. The ride is about 20-30 minutes depending on where you are staying. A typical Uber from the airport is approx: 30-45 Euros. If you're feeling adventurous you can take the train right into Old Town for about 8 Euros. You can download the App Nice Ticket or your smartphone and create an account and put money in your account if you think you may at some point take the bus or train. Uber is going to be your best friend while in Nice and wherever else you may decide to travel while in Europe. We are doing our best to accommodate as many people as we can, and there is a lot of us so please grant grace to Kevin and myself.

Suitcase & Airport

We suggest you either bring an extra suitcase or don't overpack the suitcase you are bringing so that you can shop and have space for anything you may want to buy while you're in France. Also, if you have a IPhone we would highly suggest buying a few Air Tags to go in your suitcase, just in case your luggage doesn't make it. Allow extra time in the airport for everything. The one thing the French do not do is move quickly. Give yourself about 2 1/2 hours at the airport to get through the multiple bag and passport check lines, at the Nice airport there are about 3 different check points. Also, if you have a carry on bag ALL of your toiletries have to fit into ONE zip lock bag. I have had to throw away quite a few expensive conditioners and face creams because I had too much stuff, and I was pissed.

Weather

Hey Everyone, I would highly recommend everyone checking the weather before they come to France next week. It has been changing quite rapidly and currently where I am in Grasse (about 40 mins from Nice) it has been cold and sprinkling on and off. It says that it is supposed to be Sunny at 73 degrees on Saturday but it has a 40% chance of rain on Thursday. All I'm saying is please plan according to the weather. Looks like the Mid 70's from the 21-24.
