Question

How We Met: Story from the Bride

Answer

Chris and I met at Church on the North Coast during worship team practice. Chris was practicing and I was watching. I would have to say that I was interested first, because he would always tell everyone that "I was too young". As time went on our friends Elijah and Lecah Frazier proceeded to try and get us to "talk". Chris would continuously avoid talking and he would still insist that "I was too young". Eventually, he gave in and we exchanged phone numbers and started "talking". Sooner than later, the talking turned into dating, which turned into love and now three years later we are engaged! I guess I really wasn't "too young" after all!

Question

How We Met: Story from the Groom

Answer

As Symone stated, we met at church at worship team practice at the Lorain location. I just got out of a relationship, and I was not looking too talk to anyone. I always saw her show up to practice because at the time she was singing on the team a little bit, but not much. I heard conversations that someone liked me, but didn't know who. Our friend Elijah Fraizer tried to hook us up, and his wife Lecah Frazier was talking to her to as well. I played the “she is too young” card but in reality, I wasn't looking for anyone. Time went past, and I gave in. We exchanged numbers, went on several dates, and I got to know her a little better. I seen the kind of woman of God she was, which attracted me more than anything, and her heart for God and for passion for kids. On January 1, 2014, I asked her to be my girlfriend.

Question

The Proposal

Answer

Long story short after Christmas dinner at my sisters house, we drove to Downtown Cleveland to see Christmas lights. Anyone who knows Symone knows that she is a HUGE Cleveland Cavaliers fan. I envisioned to propose to her between Progressive Field and The Q, since we were watching Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals. We got there, and the area was closed off, so I had to think on my feet. Luckily, the road in front of the Q was open, so I said: “Let’s see what hours the team shop is open. I may want to come after work tomorrow to buy a shirt.” I drove in front of the Q and parked my car and put my hazards on. I told her to come with me. She stated “ Why?? It is 15 degrees outside.” She eventually gave in and got out the car. We walked to the team shop in the cold, and we walked back. On our way back, I got under the Quicken Loans Arena sign and, I told her why i brought her downtown, what she meant to me and how she is my promise. I got on one knee and I proposed to her. She indeed said yes!
