When the two met, Symira was a sophomore and Tory was a senior at John Foster Dulles High School in Sugar Land, Texas. While waiting for her after-school ride, Symira and her best friend, Nina, decided to walk across the street from their school to get Subway after a long day of school and basketball practice. At Subway, Symira had just gotten in line to place her order when she caught the eye of Tory, who was about to take her order. When it was time to checkout Symira was ready to pay for her sandwich when Tory told her, it was no charge. The smile on Symira's face was contagious. While walking out the door, Symira turned and thanked Tory for his kind gesture and she whispered to Nina jokingly, "That's going to be my boyfriend". Symira and Tory thought that would be the last time they saw each other. The high school homecoming dance came along months later when Tory and Symira locked eyes again. This time Tory wasn't missing his chance, so he quickly approached Symira and asked her to dance. When Symira's cousin interrupted the dance, they separated, again thinking it was their last encounter. After the night was over, Symira went on her Facebook and saw she had a message. Surprisingly it was Tory! The two exchange numbers and talked for hours. They became inseparable after that night. Shortly after, Tory asked Symira to be his girlfriend, and she said yes immediately.

Tory secretly planned a beautiful proposal at the Westin Hotel in Austin, Texas on the rooftop, in an intimate section reserved for close family and friends. Tory blindfolded Symira at the elevator before leading her to the rooftop on what Symira thought was going to be a night of pictures and dinner. As soon as the blindfold was removed, Tory was kneeling on one knee with family and friends standing behind him. Symira immediately said "YES" to his proposal of marriage, crying tears of joy. It is with great anticipation that they are eagerly anticipating their wedding day in Houston, Texas on October 12th 2024. During their lifetime together, they plan on traveling as husband and wife. They are so excited for you to join them on this new chapter as they say "I do"!
