A couple of kids who are a part of the bridal party have been invited to the ceremony and reception. However, please note that invitations are limited to those listed on your wedding invitation. We are limiting invitations to kids and will not be able to accommodate any additional kids at the event.
This will be an intimate wedding for close friends + family. We have carefully curated the guest list to include the people closest to us and to be mindful of venue capacity. For this reason, we cannot extend invitations to include a plus one (unless specifically stated on your wedding invitation.)
The ceremony should start promptly at 4:00 pm. The venue will be open as early as 3:15 pm to get you seated and ready. Should you arrive after 4:00 pm, we may ask you to wait near the reception space and join us for the cocktail hour to follow.
There is plenty of parking available for guests, but we do recommend carpooling if possible. Parking staff will be present when the venue opens at 3:15 pm to guide guests to the designated parking lot. You can view a map of the venue parking lot here: https://www.theblacksheepshelter.com/venue-parking
Dress code is black-tie/cocktail attire. The venue is mainly outdoors so dress fancy but comfortably! We would love to see light earthy colors and floral patterns, if possible. And please... no white!
We are working with a local catering company to provide appetizers and dinner. Dinner will be served family style and there will be plenty of options to choose from. If you have any severe dietary restrictions, please let us know.
We are working on getting rooms available for our guests at local hotels. Please check the 'Travel' page of this website for details. There are also plenty of Airbnbs in the South Haven, Benton Harbor, Sawyer and New Buffalo area should you need extended stays. The wedding venue (Black Sheep Shelter) is approximately 2.5 hours away from Chicago.
