πŸ’ Wedding FAQ - Because You've Got Questions, and We’ve Had a Lot of Coffee
Question

How do we get from the ceremony to the reception?

Answer

After the ceremony, there will be 1-1.5 hours before the reception begins while the wedding party takes photos and we all travel to the park. Feel free to use this time to grab a quick drink, a snack, walk a little in Prospect Park or just soak up the neighborhood charm. For example, Black Mountain Wine House from the "Things to Do" tab is just down the street from St. Agnes. But don't swim in the Gowanus Canal! You’ll have a few options for travel to the reception venue: Subway – Take the πŸ…• train from Carroll St to 7th Ave and then walk 10 minutes Rideshare or Taxi – Uber, Lyft, and taxis are great options if you prefer to ride - it's about a 10 minute trip Afternoon Stroll – On foot it is about a 45 minute walk to the Picnic House

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Semi-Formal Dress: Suits and gowns are welcome, and so are jackets and cocktail dresses. Velvet encouraged! Look nice, feel comfortable, and be ready to hit the dance floor and show up in some very flattering (and possibly very candid) photos.

Question

Chicken or vegetarian?

Answer

Dinner will be buffet style but we're asking you to designate chicken or vegetarian because the information will be helpful to the caterer. If you're on the fence but might want some chicken, choose chicken. If you're concerned about missing out on amazing sides, we understand - rest assured that you'll have your pick at the buffet.

Question

I have a food allergy or dietary restriction, who do I tell?

Answer

Let the bride or groom know directly and we will work with our caterer to make sure your needs are met!

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Brooklyn is full of parking spaces... but they usually have cars in them. If you drive, the safest bet is to park in a garage. There are garages near the church and near the Picnic House. If you park near the Picnic House, it's only a short subway ride to the church. Here are the names and addresses of two options: Near Picnic House - SP Parking, 515 6th Street, Park Slope Near St. Agnes - Sackett Street Garage, 495 Sackett Street, Gowanus There are some who will make a point of pride of finding street parking. You know who you are. Good luck, we believe in you and, speaking from experience (John), add some wiggle room/circle the block time into your travel schedule.

Question

Who is catering?

Answer

WINNER https://www.winner.nyc/ and yes, there will be an open bar. Hydration and responsible choices encouraged. πŸΈπŸ’ƒ

Question

Will I be required to dance?

Answer

Possibly

Question

Can I make a song suggestion for the dance floor?

Answer

Of course! We have a great DJ booked and we want to make sure everyone enjoys themselves. Please feel free to add any song suggestions to this playlist: https://tinyurl.com/wsx4dryt (You'll need to copy-paste the address into a browser. ZOLA doesn't hyperlink, it's tricky like that. But the link works and we wanna know what you wanna hear!)

Question

Will there be an after party?

Answer

We are working on it

For all the days along the way
