In our experience the best way to travel to the 1000 Islands is by vehicle. If you're coming from Michigan/Toledo AND have your passport it is wise to travel through Canada as it will save you up to 2 hours in the car. If you're flying to the 1000 Islands the nearest airport is Syracuse Hancock International Airport which is 1.5hrs away. This airport does have all rental car agencies available.
After parking your car at Clayton Island Tours we will direct you to a tour boat that will take you to and from our wedding ceremony location. The ride there and back will be approximately 90 minutes each way. Refreshments will be provided onboard both ways. The wedding reception is located on mainland so driving/carpooling will be easiest!
The 1000 Islands in June is typically 60-80 degrees, sunny and breezy on the water. When traveling on the river the temperature drops 10-20 degrees due to wind, our best advice is to bring an extra layer when on the boat to avoid getting chilly!
The wedding will be hosted on the grounds of Boldt Castle- so we will be outside! The wedding reception will be inside/outside as Sally Port View has a main hall that is inside and a beautiful wrap-around patio where you can enjoy a bonfire and some patio games!
Unfortunately, we have a strict guest list as our venues have guest limits. Our celebration is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your wedding invitation.
We are offering a limited bar with beer, wine, signature cocktails, and basic mixed drinks at our Reception.
Your presence at our big day is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you would like to honor us with a gift you can bring it to our couples shower hosted in Toledo, OH, (invites to come!) or send it to our home address in Columbus. There will be a wedding card box at our reception.
We want to see the joyful faces of the people we love! We ask that you please turn off phones and cameras until after the ceremony! Our photographer, Lauren, promises to capture the best moments of our day and we promise to share them with you as soon as we can!
