FAQs

The Wedding Website of Sylvia Allison and Ty Ederesinghe
Question

Is there parking available?

Answer

Yes! We have a guest parking lot reserved right next to St. James, with signs to guide you. Please see image above. Do NOT park in the library parking lot, you will get fined or towed. There are 45 spots available, and please note that cars must be out by 1 AM. Additionally, there’s plenty of street parking nearby.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30 PM. We recommend arriving 15–30 minutes early to get settled, enjoy the moment, say hi to people. Please note that guests arriving after 4:30 PM unfortunately won’t be able to enter until the ceremony is done, so plan accordingly.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Black-Tie Optional Men: Tuxedo or suit and tie. Women: Long gown, midi dress, or upscale cocktail dress.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes! Please check out the travel page on our website for our recommended accommodations and room blocks. You’re welcome to stay wherever you like—these are just suggestions we think you might enjoy.

Question

Are the ceremony and reception taking place in the same location?

Answer

Yes! The entire celebration—ceremony and reception—will be at The St. James 1868. Address: 833 West Wisconsin Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53233

Will any portion of the wedding be held outdoors?

Answer

Yes! Our cocktail hour will take place outdoors on the patio. In the event of rain, it will be moved indoors. Both the ceremony and reception will be held inside.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes! We will have an open bar for all of our guests to enjoy complimentary drinks throughout the event. This includes beer, wine, cocktails, and soft drinks.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your little ones, but our wedding will be an adults-only celebration. We hope you enjoy a fun night out!

Question

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly request that guests do not take photos during the ceremony event. We have professional photographer and videographers to capture every moment so we can unplug and enjoy!

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Some guests are welcome to bring a plus one, if you're one of them, it'll be noted on your invitation or RSVP details. We wish we could celebrate with everyone, but we're working with limited capacity.
