We initially met at a mutual friend's backyard birthday bash and Music-Fest. This was an annual get-together of musician friends hanging out and helping their friend celebrate his birthday with his family. We briefly met that day, but neither of us picked up on any signals (that day was just to be part of the "meet cute"). You see, at the time they were both still recovering from draining relationships: Sylvia, a widow of 3 years who married and was the caregiver for her husband the full 10 years of their marriage after he suffered a major stroke during their engagement. In addition to that, 3 weeks after his death, she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis - so looking for everlasting love wasn't exactly at the top of her list. While Thomas, still recovering from the abuse of a traumatized marriage, dealing with the pain and healing from the 'emotional shrapnel wounds', he decided to hand over the reigns of romance to God. As far as a new relationship was concerned, Thomas was open to it, but he decided that this time he was going to let God find his actual soul-mate because The Lord will get it right! Fast forward...about one year later, our mutual and now persistent friend re-introduced us. He was sure we would hit it off, and WE DID! Our first conversation was unbelievable! Right then and there, we knew this was something to pursue. Two days later was our first date. We shared our past experiences then put everything in God's hands. The rest as they say, is history! One more thing, we started dating one year before the pandemic. That first year was easy… then the world shut down, but we made it through, together! Like the rest of the world we struggled through health scares, job scares and many other unfathomable trials and tragedies during that period, but we supported each other and struggled together becoming even more in love than we felt that first year! Most importantly, We both agree that this is not by our own strength, but all due to God's design! Yes, The Lord got it right for both of US!!
