They met at a friend's BBQ in June 2014. She sat and stared at him all night. He thought she was cute but was too shy to start a conversation. They met again on Canada Day where they spent all day together.
They packed a picnic. Some wine. Grabbed their hiking boots and took a morning drive to the Maliseet Trail near Meductic. At the end of the trail, they sat atop the Hayes Falls with their legs dangling over the edge. With the waterfall at their feet and the forest in the background, he popped the question.
