Sylvia: We met the summer before high school, we both attended a forensics camp and that's where our friendship began. I've always had a thing for Manny, for me he was that guy; smart, funny, tall, an all-star athlete, the complete package. After 17 years, filled with laughs, adventure, mutual respect and admiration for one another, and lots and lots of waiting! I'm so excited to start this new chapter as husband and wife. Manny: I first met Sylvia the summer going into freshman year of high school. We were grouped together at our forensics class and instantly became friends. The summer was filled with nonstop laughter and good times. My buddies would always give me a hard time because I would not ask her out even though they saw the obvious chemistry and connection. It wasn't until many years of studying in college that I realized Sylvia was the one for me. She adores and cares for me, she loves me for my strengths as well as my weaknesses, and she makes me want to be a better person. But most importantly, she laughs at my jokes. I love Sylvia, and I am so excited to start the next chapter of our lives together.
Sylvia: I didn't see it coming, I knew we were on the path to marriage but I didn't have any hints that it was going to happen. Looking back one obvious clue that I should have taken note of was he took his sunglasses to dinner. I thought that was odd since the sun would be going down in just a matter of minutes. At one point I had even asked if he wanted me to hold his sunglass case which he declined, that was where he was storing the ring box! We found a garden hotel bar while walking down a random alley; surrounded by string lights and candles, we talked about our relationship, reminisced on fun memories, our goals for the future and how much fun we were having in the present. He ended the conversation by getting down on one knee and asking me to marry him. I feel so humbled to be chosen by him, he's everything I have ever wanted. Manny: I knew I wanted to propose to Sylvia during our Europe trip. I felt it was the perfect way to add importance, meaning, and momentum to an already amazing trip. After some quick research, I chose Venice as the perfect place for me to ask her to be my wife. The only problem, Sylvia is a professional detective so hiding the ring until Venice was a full-time job. I set up a romantic dinner on the Grand Canal where we reminisced on all our great times together. We explored Piazza San Marcos before finding a quiet garden hotel bar near the beach and enjoyed a few adult beverages (I was nervous). I told her how much I loved her and how I see myself growing old with her but every time I tried to pop the question, Sylvia would call the waiter over. I finally waved the waiter away, fumbled the box out of my pocket, told her how much I loved her, got down on one knee, and asked her to marry me.
