Our story began on July 2, 2019, after we both swiped right on Hinge. Our first date was at the J. Parker in Lincoln Park—it started with a summer storm and ended with plans for a second date. Things moved quickly. Luke became the unofficial third roommate to me and my best friend Rachel, and he instantly bonded with Bruce (who wouldn’t?). Just a few weeks later, we took a trip to Colorado and discovered our shared love for travel and the outdoors. It was the first of many adventures together. During the early days of the pandemic, we moved into a cozy 700-square-foot apartment—spending every moment together and learning a lot along the way. Once travel resumed, so did our adventures. I plan each trip down to the details, and thankfully, Luke navigates like a pro (since I have absolutely no sense of direction). Some of our favorite memories are from London, Rome, and Croatia, and we’re excited for many more as husband and wife. On June 16, 2024, while visiting Eagle River with Luke’s family, he surprised me with a proposal on the dock—finding the perfect moment when we were alone, just as we’d always imagined. Today, we cherish the simple things: walks with Bruce through our favorite Chicago neighborhoods, spontaneous DQ runs, spending time with the people we love, and browsing open houses in search of our future home. We can’t wait to begin this next chapter and celebrate with all of you this September!
