It was a dark night at Beulahland Bible Camp. Collin was 18 years old and Sydnie was 17 years old. Collin was attending college at Calmar, while Sydnie picked up a summer job at Beulahland in 2014. Sydnie had made some new friends at camp; Katy Lee, Sydney, William, and Steven (stuch). Sydnie was sitting around the bonfire with her new friends, while Katy suggested inviting over Collin. Sydnie was unaware of who this young stud was, but she agreed to have him come over. Later that night, Collin joined the life of the party. It was a wonderful night! It was the beginning of a beautiful friendship. It wasn't for another 2 years, Collin and Sydnie rekindled at the Baptist church in Elgin, Iowa. They have been inseparable since then. They got engaged on July 8th, 2018 and soon to be married on June 13, 2020. We are so excited to see what God has in store for our future! We both have big dreams ahead and hope that you will join us for this big celebration of ours!
Beulah land will always be a special place to Sydnie and myself. The decision to have our wedding there was actually made within a few hours of our engagement. Once a few details were worked out the realization that we could make our wedding totally unique to us made the planning very fun and easy. At this time, I would rather say were not having a traditional wedding reception, but more so welcoming people to summer camp. We want people to enjoy Beulah land like we did when we met and worked there. Dress attire is not required, bring your swim gear and jump in the lake, start a sand volleyball tournament, play camp games, just enjoy yourself. You won’t be stuck on the dance floor all night long (Thank God). In the spirit of welcoming everyone to summer camp we will be serving brats, burgers, and a smores bar. Sydnie and I started officially dating on 6-14-16, we will actually be getting married one day short of four years. I tried to convince her to sign the license after midnight but that idea was shot down quickly, guess I have to remember a new date. In April of 2018 we moved into our first house in a small town south west of Fort Dodge. After condensing and finally unpacking both our apartments into one kitchen (only took 2 years). We realized we had 7 pizza cutters and approximately 50 forks. We have come to the conclusion that most typical wedding gifts we already have, sometimes double. (Except dishes ours are all mismatched and I am not capable of putting them away correctly according to my loving fiance) Our gift registry contains a lot of things that we will need to update our house to make it our home. Furniture, dishes, tools, and even a few dog toys can be found. Both of us grew up in families that did a lot of DIY and weekend warrior projects so remodeling our house is going to be fun to us. We hope to see you all at Beulah land in June, if you have any questions for us feel free to contact us. Thank You, Collin, Sydnie, and Trixie 🡨 the dog
