Tyler and I saw each other for the first time at a high school football game on 09/21/2012 where he was playing Left Tackle and I was Cheerleading. We talked for the first time over Facebook on 10/17/2012 and although I still have the messages, I will save us both the embarrassment. Our first 'real' date was on 12/14/2012 where we went to see a James Bond movie, this was the day Tyler asked me to be his girlfriend! Tyler and I moved in together on 08/20/2016 and got our first apartment together on 06/15/2018. Now onto the fun part, the proposal! I have always wanted to go to New York City so we made it our goal to visit by the end of 2019. We planned every small detail and were counting down the days until we left. We took our first ever train ride and made it to the city on 09/06/2019. We went to Times Square and got rained on while exploring the city. The next day we planned to go to the Empire State Building but had some trouble getting up to the top. We were there about an hour early and were the first in line. Shortly after a line started forming behind us, we realized we were at the wrong door and went inside to find the real line had already started. While waiting, I bought our tickets but was not getting the confirmation email with the tickets on it. I eventually realized I put the wrong email and spent the next five minutes debating just buying new tickets. Luckily I screen shot everything so I had the confirmation number and we were able to get to the top. We had a great time looking at the city and views but it was really windy so we decided to go inside. I was looking at the Brooklyn bridge and the next thing I know, Tyler is down on one knee asking me to marry him (Of course I said YES!!). The rest of the trip included walking through Central Park, visiting the Met museum and Serendipity restaurant, and eating classic NYC pizza. Now we are working on planning our upcoming wedding. We cannot wait to celebrate with everyone in October!
