The Neals

We met in high school when Zyhre walked into my math class one day. I had never seen him before, but the entire class immediately yelled his name in excitement. Since we attended a predominantly white school, I thought I knew, or at least recognized all of the Black students, so I was instantly intrigued. He sat behind me and immediately started talking. At the time, I had two drinks in my backpack, one being an extra sweet tea. He joked that I was going to give myself diabetes, and I rolled my eyes, handed him one, and said, “If you wanted one, all you had to do was ask.” From that moment on, we became friends, completely platonic. Everything changed on January 1, 2019, when we met up with a group of friends on New Year’s. We instantly clicked, and honestly, everyone around us noticed it too. From that day forward, we were inseparable. Later that same year, we moved into our very first apartment together. It was small, but it was ours, and it was enough for us. The following year, we welcomed our beautiful daughter, Nyomi, into the world, and just three months later, we got engaged. Over the years, we truly grew up together. We learned together, experienced life together, and conquered obstacles together. Through every season of life, we continued choosing one another, building not only a relationship, but a family and a home. Life took its turns, and wedding planning quickly became overwhelming, which is ultimately what led us to Las Vegas, a city full of energy, excitement, and love, and of course, the wedding capital of the world. As we begin this next chapter together, we feel incredibly grateful to celebrate alongside the people we love most. Thank you for being part of our story.
