We took a family vacation to Destin, Fl in July of 2022. I had played it off to Sydney that the ring was still getting sized and was much safer for us to leave it at the jeweler rather than the house while we were out of town (her thinking that I was going to propose on this trip). I knew that I was going to pop the question one day while down there, but wasn't sure which exact day. Monday July 18th, when I woke up that day, I knew that today was the day that I was going to ask the BIG question! I had a large canvas created of us from the year before of us at the beach which is our favorite photo from that vacation and hiding it was very very difficult. While swimming in the ocean that day I knew I was going to need some help planning this event. Telling everyone that I wanted to take family photos that evening on the beach with my new camera and drone was almost a bust but when I "hinted" many times that I waned to "take photos" while I head to the beach first to set up camera settings came out to be perfect. I had to ask the ladies if they wanted to touch up their makeup while I dial in the camera settings on the beach for 5 minutes when in reality, I was setting up the canvas and trying to figure out the right words to say. My stomach felt like a tornado was going through it but for good intentions. While noticing Sydney and the rest of the family walking down the walkway to the beach I had just gotten the canvas up and handed my phone to Eric (Jessie's Husband) to record the event. The location and sunset were just perfect so as soon as we got to the canvas I dropped down to one knee and waited for Sydney to turn around and at that moment, the only thing I was imagining was spending the rest of my life with her.
