*from Syd's Perspective* We officially met two years ago on the pickleball court. Taylor (my boss at the time) invited me out to Dallas to learn how to play pickleball. She didn't mention how cute her brother was ;) Trev so kindly & patiently taught me how to play (lol) & even gifted me my first pickleball paddle. What a guy. He could tell I needed the extra practice hahaha. We stayed friends for a while- running into each other at random events & all within the Lord's timing a year later Taylor officially set us up on yet another pickleball hangout... so yes she does indeed get credit. Trev got my number and sent me his first-ever audio message- poor thing didn't know you could re-record them. I loved every second of it. We went on our first date quickly after that & I was convinced I had found my unicorn. my person all within a few months of dating. & to this day he still laughs at my jokes- a true keeper. As much as I wanted to be a slow burn I fell for his dorky, passionate, kind, servant-hearted, God-fearing heart FAST & never looked back. You are now officially stuck with me forever Trevor Samson. xoxoxo *from Trevor's Perspective* Two years ago I received a text from my sister, Taylor, asking if I wanted to play some pickleball with her and one of her new coworkers, who apparently had never played before. Naturally I said yes, because its pickleball, duh. I pulled up to the parking lot and saw this beautiful girl warming up with Taylor and her husband, Stephen, and secretly hoped my sister was trying set me up with her. Alas she was in a relationship already, dang it! Oh well, we still ended up playing pickleball for a couple hours and it was a great time, and afterwards I gifted her my pickleball paddle so she could practice on her own, because I could see the fiery determination in her eyes to one day be the best pickleballer ever. After that we had remained friends and would see each other every so often at a couple events here and there that were usually hosted by Taylor and I would always come away really enjoying my conversations with Syd and wanting to know more about her! It wasn't until after I started recovering from my 2nd liver transplant (a fun story for another time) where things really began to heat up. I had taken the next bold step in my pursuit of Syd by following her on Instagram of course...it was here where I never even sent her a message... YES, Syd and I have talked about it since, and YES, she was anticipating me messaging her. So I'm very aware of how bad I failed in that department... trust me I'm shaking my head too. However the Lord had other things in store and after several months of frustrations in my dating life I was talking with Taylor, and she happened to mention Syd's availability to which my reaction was, "why are we still talking, set me up with her please?!" to my excitement Taylor agreed. And Syd and I's first soft launch date took place two days later where we once again found ourselves on the pickleball courts. Afterwards I was able to secure Syd's number, SCORE!! I then proceeded to send her the most choppy and terrible voice message ever, in my defense I had never sent one before and I didn't know you could re-record them. Somehow despite my unbelievably bad voice memo I was able to convince Syd to go out with me on a real date this time, just me and her! And boy it didn't take long for me to see how special Syd was! I fell hard and I fell fast! From her joyful laugh, to her incredible heart, it was easy for me to see the fruits of the spirit marked throughout her life and her story, and let me tell you I quickly wanted to be in on it for the rest of my life! Which takes us to where we are now and what an incredible adventure it's been so far and what an amazing gift she has been to me! I can't wait to marry her on Dec 6th and I'm so glad you'll be there to celebrate with us!!
