Our Story

We met at the campus YMCA. We both just finished our workout, (well, Taran hung around for a bit to meet Sydney.)

A Wyatt family trip to New Mexico. How they let us take the lead, I don't know?

Senior photos together. We both graduated with our bachelors in May of '22

Taran proposed with this adorable picture of Maddix! It was the day before Sydney's birthday. He woke her up early for a cup of coffee and said he had an "early gift."

Syd loves all things classic & artsy. Taran chose a salt & pepper diamond. Once, a gem to be discarded now envied for its individuality. The side stones are from Taran's, late great-grandma's ring.

One of our favorite spots in town-> Mort's Martini Bar! (Taran especially loves the free popcorn.)

Sydney followed Taran to (almost) every track meet his senior year. A beautiful team of trust, support and endurance!

One of our first dates was to Dave & Buster's! We walked away with 3 brain games & we spent the rest of the night figuring them out! We still joke about how Sydney almost got her ID taken here!

Our second date was to the Zoo. We spent all day walking around the park. (We purposely went on the first day of school for USD 259 so the whole park was empty!)

Christmas '22. I knew he was a keep when he was willing to go out in public with me like this.

Christmas is one of our favorite holidays! We love watching Christmas movies and going to see the lights!

We had just received our degrees in this picture. We did a small party with friends and family between our ceremonies. Sydney honestly thought Taran might propose at the party!

Taran had just won the Javelin event at the conference meet. Sydney had to test out the prize.

Road trips! Typically Maddix will crawl into Sydney's lap as soon as they are on the highway.

If you know us you probably know this sweet boy Maddix. Taran has had Maddix since he was a puppy. Sydney quickly became mom/the spare human.

Taran's senior track banquet. It was beautiful to look back on all of the great memories and accomplishments.

WSU Basketball! This was shortly after Taran had had his tonsils removed AND gotten chicken pox. We navigated through the challenges of a medical 8-year-old!

Taran's 23rd birthday! One of our favorite places to go is Newport Grill, a delicious seafood restaurant!

Hanging out in Oregon! Sydney, Taran's parents and grandma had quite the time getting up there but it was well worth it!

Wedding planning! Poor Taran got drug to the Wedding Expo at Century II. We got some really good ideas! But I think that was enough people time for us.

First anniversary to Newport of course!

Our first kid together! We adopted Ubba from the Kansas Humane Society. He has definitely become the entertainment of the family.
