Sam and Sydney grew up just thirty minutes apart in Georgia, yet it wasn’t until Auburn University that their paths first crossed. As freshmen, they briefly met at a restaurant while out with a large group of friends. It was only a passing introduction, and neither realized that the Lord was already preparing the way for their story. During their sophomore year, they were reintroduced on a blind date that led them to a Mardi Gras–themed party. The connection was immediate. They quickly began spending more time together, and within a month, Sam asked Sydney to be his girlfriend. Over the next four years, their relationship grew and deepened. In March 2025, Sam surprised Sydney with a carefully planned trip to Charleston—a place she had always hoped to visit with him. What she believed was a getaway to celebrate another couple’s engagement became their own. On Rainbow Row, Sam asked Sydney to marry him, and they joyfully celebrated with their families afterward. Looking back, Sam and Sydney see the Lord’s hand in every step of their journey—from a passing introduction at Auburn to the moment they said “yes” in Charleston. What began as chance meetings has become a lasting love story marked by faith, gratitude, and joy.
