Hello everyone! Sydney here writing to share our story for those who haven't already heard it. Ryan and I met in 2019 through a mutual friend that both of us had known for years. There were many times when we were in the same place at the same time but our paths never crossed. I grew up in Canton Connecticut and he grew up in Simsbury Connecticut. Our whole lives we hung out at the same places yet never knew each other. Some of Ryan's best friends went to Canton High School, including the one who set us up. On March 13th, 2019, a mutual friend of ours was hanging out with Ryan and sent me a photo of the two of them on a walk together. I decided to be bold and wrote back, "your friend is cute, is he single?" He wrote back and told me that Ryan is the nicest dude and I should send him a message. I already had Ryan as a friend on Facebook because we had so many mutual friends. So, I did what the kids would call, "sliding into the DMs," and sent him a message on Messenger. Ryan took forever to respond to me, because the Division 2 had just come out, and he was gaming. I thought for sure I had embarrassed myself. Once he responded we talked throughout the entire night, and the next day, and everyday after that. We hit it off right away and on April 7th, 2019, Ryan asked me to be his girlfriend. We learned we had so many things in common leading me to believe in the invisible string theory. For example, Ryan's grandmother worked at the daycare my little brother went to and she knew my parents. My mom's best friend's husband was a bouncer at the restaurant Ryan's mom worked at, and my older cousin was friends with Ryan's brother in High School. The universe has a funny way of working sometimes. I met Ryan at a time in my life when I really needed to be loved. Despite any obstacles that came our way, every day still felt like the start. Our love for one another has never faltered. Ryan still tells me all the time that he has the biggest crush on me. That's just how we are. There really was no honeymoon phase. We both knew that one day we would end up here and we are so excited that day has finally come. While our love story may not be the most unique it is by far my most favorite, because it is ours.
