In 2019, Mykai was working as a Stage Ops intern at Glimmerglass while Sydney was working as an Event Production intern. While at a game of "True American" one weekend, Sydney and Mykai instantly hit it off when they were both put in "Jail" during the game. Ever since then, they have spent every day they could together, lasted almost a year in a long distance relationship, moved across the country three times. and wouldn't change a thing.

On February 4th, 2021, Mykai invited Sydney to the Falk Theatre in Tampa for a show she would never forget. Dressed in her favorite blue suit of his, Mykai, along with the help of some friends, performed a scene from Romeo and Juliet, got down on one knee, and asked the big question. Afterwards, she found that he had all of her closest friends and family on Zoom, and some of their best friends and family in the theatre. It was truly the most magical night of their lives (so far)!
