We originally met through Sydney’s bridesmaid, Amber, back in middle school. Sydney and Amber = best friends and Mike and Amber = Neighbors. Many hangouts in Amber’s basement, at Mike’s hockey games, and on the Sjostrom trampoline were spent until we fell off mid-high school. We found our way back to each other in 2020 right before the plague that was COVID-19 hit when Mike randomly walked into Sydney’s work. We reconnected and the rest is history!

This is Mike’s time to shine. When he asked Sydney how she would want him to propose she had 2 requests: 1) that both our families be present and 2) that her nails were done (LOL). Syd’s family takes a vacation together every year and this time we traveled to Amelia Island, Florida. July 15, 2025 Mike got down on one knee and popped the question in front of a beautifully decorated arch (pre-planned out by Mike, assembled by Annie, Mike's dad and brother, Ryan) right in the middle of the beach on the perfect Tuesday morning. All of Syd’s family was present of course and come to find out they had all planned for Mike's family to fly down to Florida to be present as well. They were hiding in the bushes until Syd turned around. It was beautiful and so perfect, we will never forget it! ❤️
