She was in her college class, and he was working in a stadium, both sitting 100 miles away, both looking at each other's profile picture wondering if they could one day share a special bond. Cheesy, we know, but we were hopeful. November 12, 2018 is referred to as Swipe Day, as we call it, and we celebrate it each year. Little did we know that it was the day that we truly found our perfect match. One text message, phone call, and Facetime conversation led to another, and we found ourselves sharing dinner together at TGIF. After time spent meeting and engaging with our families, hanging out with friends, and simply sharing time together, we continued our story by dating one another in January 2019 while we were visiting Michael's family in Virginia. The first several years of dating were some of the most joyful yet challenging. We spent that time traveling back and forth to State College and Pittsburgh, as we were long distance for two years while Michael was working in State College, and Sydney was in graduate school at Saint Francis University. Sydney graduated college in 2021 and took an occupational therapy position within the Pittsburgh area. A few months after Sydney began working, Michael moved to Pittsburgh to continue his career in facility operations and management. It was such a surreal feeling living in the same city as one another. No more trips up and down Route 22 separately but now together. We also spent that time learning about one another and growing in relationship together through travel, over coffee, and with the Lord. What only felt like a dream became OUR reality. We were engaged July 2, 2022 on the property of the home that we had purchased and built together in Jeannette, PA, surrounded by our families love and full support. We are truly blessed with the beautiful, irreplaceable gift of family not only on that day but always. Who would have thought that the man Sydney thought she recognized in Market Square at Pittsburgh Light Up Night 2018 was the same man staring back at her on her phone. Better yet, who would have thought that they now will become married. We did not know but God certainly did. We truly believe it was His perfect plan to bring us together for his will, and we pray to use our relationship to serve and bless others to the very best of our ability both individually and together.
