We’re getting married!

Our story starts with a random message I (Sydney) recieved from an old friend (John Austin) , asking if he could give my number to his brother in law (Matthew). At first I was skeptical because he was only 20, and I swore to never date someome younger than me lol..but I gave it a shot anyway..we hit it off immediately and texted until 3 in the morning. I just so happen to be going to Texas later that month to meet some friends and that’s where Matthew coincidentally lived..we talked everyday until the time came for us to meet..once we met, it was like we had known each other our whole life (we were even wearing the same color on our first date without planning it!) Matthew fell harder than I did at first, but I eventually caught up to him, and we became offically boyfriend and girlfriend June 12, 2021 after talking since May 6th, 2021. We knew we were gonna get married right off the bat, the chemistry and connection was immediate. So when Matthew proposed September 3rd, 2021 it was a no brainer for me to say yes. We are so excited to spend the rest of our lives together serving Jehovah and being the best of friends!

Matthew outdid himself with the proposal..it was everything I could have ever dreamed and then some. Me and my parents planned several weeks in advance to go to Texas Labor Day weekend.. I knew the proposal was gonna happen within a certain time period, but I didn’t know the exact day, time, location or anything. Little did I know, Matthew was coordinating with my family and my friends about when the proposal would happen. I gave him grief about it for a long time, asking when it was gonna happen haha. The morning of September 3rd I wanted to get on to the road to leave for Texas by 10:00, it was a 6.5 hour drive and I didn’t want to miss anytime with Matthew. My parents were stalling to leave the house.. (we weren’t suppose to be in Texas till 7:30) but I didn’t know that so I just wanted to get out the door 😂 my parents and matthews family were all in on it of course. Angie and mom were texting the whole trip trying to get the timing right. Matthew told me his dad, Angie and John and Ashley were at the house waiting to go to dinner which I said was suspicious 😂 when we did get to the house, they said we had a dinner reservation at 8:15..which of course didn’t exist 😂 it was all of their jobs to keep me from going outside..when we got there my dog Indy needed to go outside so I went to go let her out, and Matthew shut the door before I saw anything and said “no, I’ll take her” which I thought was super suspicious 😂 then Matthew asked me to plug in an extension cord and then he asked me to go outside with him, and that’s when I knew..then we went outside to the most beautiful setup that he did all by himself, even built the arch.. he had pictures of us all hung up on it, then he asked me to marry him and i said YES!!!! We are so happy❤️
