The summer of 2015 we both were taking summer classes at East Carolina University (Go Pirates!). After a month of coincidental run- ins and saving Sydney from a dead car battery, Mark finally asked Sydney on their first date. On their first date, there was an undeniable spark and that is where our relationship began!

Leading up to Christmas Sydney and Mark created an Advent calendar of personalized small gifts. The last surprise Mark gave Sydney was reservations at their favorite restaurant in Raleigh, Cafe Luna. On the way to dinner Mark and Sydney decided to walk down Fayetteville street to enjoy the downtown Raleigh Christmas decor. In front of the Duke Energy Christmas tree Mark got down on one knee to pop the question, and without a doubt Sydney said YES!
