We met freshman year of high school on the bus, even though we had been attending the same schools since 3rd grade. After that, it took a couple of years to for us to become friends and start hanging out. We made it official (however official a high school relationship can be) just before senior year and have been together ever since!
Lucas planned what I thought was going to be our most eventful New Years Eve. We went to downtown Saint Augustine and walked around the shops and the waterfront, like we used to on our old dates, and then went to Vilano Beach to look for sharks teeth. I knew I saw his truck when we pulled into the parking lot, but he said his brother was visiting friends. My suspicions were high, but I just listened to what he said. Still, we went to the beach and looked for what seemed like forever without finding any teeth. Then once we got closer to the rocks, he stopped me. That's when he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him and of course I said yes! To my surprise, his brother caught it on camera. He found a single sharks tooth that I put with the ring. and still have in the box till today. We celebrated at one of our favorite restaurants with all of our family. It was a day we will never forget!
