The year was 2020. A young gorgeous audit professional walked into the office excited to start her day. A tall handsome man with piercing blue eyes gazed and mumbled through his mask that his name is Kyle. I introduced myself as Sydney. After meeting the man that I knew would one day be my husband, I was suddenly disappointed to find out that Kyle was one of my supervisors. That power dynamic did not stop Kyle from incessantly flirting with me. After 1 year of his flirting, my heart broke when he said he was quitting, but then I thought of a possible future with him. Kyle's last day arrived and at his going away party, he promised we would meet up some time. After waiting two excruciating days, I reached out to see if my old supervisor would like to go to the driving range and waited over two hours for him to reply "sure".

After one year of working with Sydney and being an extremely professional Supervisor to her, I decided to resign from the accounting firm to pursue a new opportunity. Although I was disappointed that I'd no longer be seeing her on a regular basis, we talked about how we would meet up to hit a driving range one day soon. I went home after my last day and was looking forward to never having to think about auditing again. I gave myself an entire weekend to unwind and then on my first official Monday of not having to work I see a text pop up from Sydney. Oh boy... not even one day off of work and I'm already getting a question from my old coworker. But instead, to my delight, she was actually just reaching out to see when we were going to hang out. I was just playing it cool and was definitely going to reach out to her eventually, but thanks to Sydney that moment jumpstarted our relationship. After that, all I had to do was take her to the driving range and impress her with my incredible skill and precision and the rest is history!
