We're Getting Married!

November 10, 2024 — The Unexpected Beginning It all started during Urshan Preview Weekend, when I went to visit my best friend, Morgan McElhaney, at her college. Little did I know she had matchmaking plans in mind. At a late-night event, I may have casually mentioned to Morgan that one of the guys there was cute. Of course, Morgan wasted no time — she went straight to Josiah and told him, “My friend thinks you're cute.” He replied, “The one with the basketball?” She said, “Yep.” The 3-Point Challenge Not long after, Josiah walked over and challenged me to a 3-point shootout, confidently saying I probably wasn’t that good. Naturally, I had to prove him wrong. We headed to the court… and I won. That night, we ended up hanging out, and there was just something different about him — something I couldn’t quite explain, but I knew I wanted to know more. A Few Weeks Later — The DM After that night, I didn’t hear from him for a little while. But then, a few weeks later… he DM'd me on Instagram. That message was the start of so many conversations, late-night Face Times, and something we both realized was more than just a casual connection. Our First Date — Kentucky Meet-Up Our first official date was in Kentucky, where we finally got to see each other again. It felt natural, like we’d known each other for much longer. A few weeks later, we officially started dating. Now — Forever Begins For the past two years, we’ve been in a long-distance relationship — and it’s been one of the hardest things we’ve ever done. There were tears, long drives, FaceTime calls, and seasons of waiting. But through it all, the Lord gave us peace, strength, and constant reminders that He was in this from the beginning. And now, standing here on the edge of forever, we can say: It’s all been worth it. God knew exactly what He was doing when He brought us together — even when we didn’t see it coming. We can't wait to start this next chapter surrounded by the people we love most.
