Thames Street
The primary street in downtown Newport, Thames Street is lined on either side with a myriad of shops, restaurants, and bars.
Cliff Walk
3.5 mile scenic walkway that borders the ocean and many of the Newport Mansions. This was one of our first dates back in 2017 in RI!
Newport Mansions
Take a tour on the grounds and inside the beautiful Newport Mansions like The Breakers, Rosecliff & The Elms.
Bowens Wharf
Harbor & square surrounded by boutiques, cafes, galleries & sightseeing tour companies. This is a popular spot to book/board sightseeing boat rides. We recommend the sunset sailboat ride or the catamaran tour. We've done both!
Newport Vineyards
Beautiful winery with both indoor & outdoor seating options. Serving both wine, beer and small plates. Reservations are usually required to avoid a wait. We've been here multiple times with both family and friends!
Brick Alley Pub
A Newport Landmark with eats ranging from nachos to lobster rolls.
Coddington Brewing Company
Local microbrewery with a full-service pub housing TVs, billiards & fireplace.
Castle Hill Inn
Grab a cocktail at the Adirondack Bar and enjoy the spectacular view of Narragansett Bay or visit the Terrace Bar and grab a bite to eat. The Inn does not take reservations for the Adirondack chairs and there is a capacity limit. Once that capacity is reached, new arriving guests will be directed to return at a later time or on another day. We suggest making time during the week to visit, when there will be a smaller crowd.
Beavertail Lighthouse Museum
Located on the tip of Jamestown, the town next to Newport, this lighthouse is home to a museum packed with information, history and facts about the USA’s third oldest lighthouse. The surrounding Beavertail State Park is well worth spending some time in also.
Iggy's Doughboys & Chowder House
A Rhode Island must, known for it's chowder, clam cakes and doughboys. We make a trip here nearly every visit to RI!
Providence WaterFire
Walk along the river in Providence and see the artistic set up of floating fires. Enjoy the fire, music, local shops and restaurants as you make your way down the streets along the river.
Main Street
Nestled in the middle of the state, East Greenwich’s charming Main Street is an ideal stretch to find shopping, coffee and eats.
Martha's Vineyard
Martha's Vineyard is known for it's harbor towns and lighthouses, sandy beaches and farmland. It's accessible only by boat or air. The closest ferry takes off from Quonset Point Pier in RI. We suggest taking at least a day for this visit! We visited two years ago with friends and had such a fun time - the seafood, views, beaches and nightlife are worth the ferry ride.
Salem, Massachusetts
Famous for the 17th century witch trials Salem is a perfect spot to visit in the fall! Salem boasts everything from spectacular 17th-century architecture to world-class art museums.
Mystic Pizza
If you are driving to RI, you’ll pass this nostalgic pizza spot that inspired the 1988 film, Mystic Pizza. It serves up pies and more in the memorabilia-filled space.
Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge
Nearly 3 miles of trails around Sachuest Point offer visitors the opportunity to experience several habitats of animals and plants. Situated on the coast overlooking the ocean, a hike at Sachuest Point is relatively flat and easy, and also offers scenic views without having to climb.
Watch Hill
Watch Hill is an upscale neighborhood located on the southern tip of Rhode Island in Westerly. This quaint, coastal town is a hidden gem that offers gorgeous ocean views, fine dining, and numerous boutiques, art galleries, and seasonal events. You can even visit East Beach and get a look at Taylor Swifts house!
