Joey and I met our freshman year of high school in English class. I remember being very shy and completely oblivious to the subtle hints that he would give me. They say the way into a man's heart is his stomach...well, I say the way into a girl's heart is her dog. Once Joey figured out the only way to get me to open up was simply talking about my furry best friend, Ceasar, the rest was history! From that point forward, we talked every day over the summer and started dating at the beginning of our sophomore year. He owes a lot to that pup!!

Joey and I love the movie Tangled. We always say it is one of our all-time favorite movies! For Halloween in 2023, I suggested that we dress up as Rapunzel and Flynn. Joey took this as an opportunity to give me a Tangled-themed proposal! The day of, we got all dressed up in our costumes to go to what I thought was a Halloween party with his family. As we got closer to home, he asked me to put on a blind fold because he had a surprise for me once we got there. Once the car stopped, he helped me out and we began walking through some tall grass. I was completely confused at this point but also excited to see what this big surprise was. Next thing I knew, I was stepping into what felt like a boat and being rowed through some water. Finally, he told me to take off the blindfold and I was completely blown away by what I saw in front of me. We were sitting in a rowboat on a little pond that was covered in beautiful lanterns just like the lantern scene from the movie! It was absolutely gorgeous, and I was so flattered that he would put this much effort into giving me a dream come true. Of course, that was not even the best part! I could hardly see through my tears of joy, but he pulled out the loveliest ring and asked me to marry him!!
