Jerad and Sydney initially crossed paths at Tradewind Coffee in Dacula, GA, in 2017. Their interaction went no further than Jerad's black coffee orders until mid-2018 when they connected at a youth event at a local church. One message on Instagram about an Athens donut shop turned into a conversation that goes on to this day. A few months after, Jerad, in the most romantic of spots (The Buford Zaxby's parking lot), would ask Sydney on a date.
On January 5th, 2019, they sealed the deal on this thing. It caused Sydney to be late for work that Saturday afternoon, but it was settled. Things were now what the millennials call "Facebook official."
"Two of our best friends happened to live in New York City. Initially, the plan was to take a weekend and visit them in Brooklyn, but after some thoughtful planning between me and my friend Bobby, I decided to propose to Sydney in New York. The highlight of the weekend occurred on a pier in Queens, overlooking the New York Skyline, where I proposed to the love of my life. We capped off the weekend with all the tourist attractions, and flew home an engaged couple." - Jerad
