I never believed in highschool sweet hearts, until Syd and I ended up together. We met as freshmen at a skating event. She approached me lol, I was too busy playing arcade games smh. But when I did see her I knew she special, as cliche as that sounds. We became friends but nothing more. Then everything changed our senior year. I don’t know what happened, maybe it was us going out in service together or always hanging out together with our mutual friends but, growing to learn who she was, I couldn’t help but to know that I liked Sydney but I honestly didn’t know if it was mutual. Sometime during the end of that year we finally spoke one on one. She told me that she had something important to say and I honestly didn’t know what to expect. When she told me that she liked me, I was caught off guard so it took me a minute to tell her that I felt the same way. After our confessions, we took the rest of the last month of school and 11 more months just becoming best friends and really getting to know each other. I fell in love with her during those months and I knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her(another cliche, I know lol). We officially started dating June 8, 2019 which allowed us a good 6 months or so to enjoy our new relationship before Covid hit. In these last 4 1/2 years, we have learned a lot about each other and we know we'll keep growing and changing and we'll never stop learning new things about one another. We're excited to embark on this next chapter and I can't wait to be able to call my best friend, the woman I fell in love with, my wife.

Jalen and I met when we were 14 after we ended up at the same high school. I recognized him at a skating event and introduced myself which eventually led to us becoming friends and sharing a mutual friend group. Throughout the next 4 years our friendship grew but we were never really close until senior year when we started talking with each other more. I had a crush on him on and off throughout high school and once we started to get to know one another better, I knew I liked him. I’m not really one to hold my tongue so I decided to tell him how I felt. When we realized that we both had feelings for one another we decided to really get to know each other and form a genuine and close friendship. Over the course of a year we became best friends and our feelings turned from like to love. After we started dating we definitely hit a learning curve because neither of us had ever been in a relationship before but as we were learning and growing, so were our feelings. The pandemic was incredibly hard on me but Jalen’s love and care for me during that time was something I had never experienced before and it’s something I will always appreciate and cherish along with all the beautiful parts of his personality that I adore. I don’t believe in fairytales but I am a romantic and I’ve always wanted a beautiful great love and I know I’ve found that with Jalen. These last 4 1/2 years have been lovely but I can’t wait to finally marry the love of my life.
