We’re getting married!

Sydney and Jackson’s story started in January 2022 at the Frisco RoughRiders ballpark, where fate (and baseball) put them on the same team. Sydney had just accepted a role on the marketing team while finishing her master’s degree, and Jackson was already holding it down on the sales side—quietly thinking the new marketing girl was very cute. Coincidentally, Sydney was texting her best friend that same thought, predicting Jackson would probably become her new work crush. Over the next few weeks, their relationship consisted of casual office run-ins and small talk about Arkansas Razorbacks sports, Dallas teams, and, of course, the Arizona Cardinals. Friendly? Yes. Flirty? Maybe. Someone making a move? Absolutely not. That all changed during the 2022 NBA Playoffs when the Phoenix Suns played the Dallas Mavericks. Jackson, confidently (and incorrectly), posted on Instagram that the Suns would win. Unfortunately for him, the Mavs had already crushed them by the time Sydney saw the post—so she did what any reasonable person would do and slid up to tell him it “didn’t age well.” From that moment on, the conversation never stopped. They started spending every second together when they weren’t at the ballpark and quickly realized they had found their person. Fast forward to February 2025, they moved in together, and in November 2025, Jackson finally popped the question. What started as a work crush, a bad sports take, and a perfectly timed Instagram reply turned into forever—and they wouldn’t have it any other way. 🤍
