Hobie and I met at a mutual friends apartment in the loop of Burlington back in 2012. At that time we were just friends and I don’t think either one of us ever expected to be anything but. After years of friendship, we were supporting each other through breakups and started to connect on a deeper level, which lead to us exploring a relationship in the winter of 2016. Hobie didn't make things official by asking me to be his girlfriend until April of 2017. Our favorite things to do when we first started dating included hangouts at the Lodge of Antioch or Anastasia’s. Early on, I knew Hobie was going to be my person and it wasn’t long after we started dating that we began talking about starting a family and getting married. We finally fell pregnant with our precious daughter Tatum in 2018. Although the journey to brining her into this world was a less than stellar experience, Hobie supported me through it all and our bond was strengthened. Just when I thought I couldn’t love Hobie any more, I got to see him as a father when Tatum was born in March of 2019. I was fortunate enough to be a stay at home mom and teach my daughter all that she knows and not miss a step in those first months which just flew by. Hobie supported us along the way and surprised me completely by getting down on one knee on December 10th of 2020 at Rotary Botanical gardens in Janesville. It was no secret we were going to get married, but I figured we were waiting until I was done with school, so I was completely shocked by our engagement. It was the best surprise. Our plate always seems to be full. On top of planning the wedding, we purchased land to build our first home. On top of that we have been struggling with our infertility journey and trying for a second child. The support we offer for eachother is what helps keep this relationship so strong. We work hard every day to reach our big, big plans of growing our family and building our first home! Our wedding is the next chapter in our book and we can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together. We are so thankful to be able to start that chapter with so many loved ones there to support us.
