How it started

Highschool sweethearts

Heath and I have been friends since the 6th grade, when he moved to Odessa, Tx. We had some classes together all through high school but senior year was different for us. I never really payed much attention to Heath. He was the quarterback and I thought he was totally full of himself. I remember taking a picture with him at the first pep-rally of senior year. Once I sent him that picture we never really stopped talking to each other the rest of the year. I remember Heath asking me on a date and I refused because it was senior year and I didn't want anything happening right before we went off to college and plus it was Heath Wood. That didn't stop Heath though, he kept pursuing me and would not take no for an answer. So, I went on that date with him and had such a good time. Heath and I started dating and I fell head over heels for a guy I never would have expected to. We went off to different colleges and literally saw each other every weekend and made it work in every way possible. I am so thankful I said yes to that first date and got to know the real Heath Wood. I am so in love with such an amazing man who still continues to pursue me.

The Proposal

December 2, 2017

Oh, the most romantic moment thats ever happened to me!! We were visiting my best friend in Fredericksburg, Tx for Christmas. We originally went to watch the Christmas parade and go to the Riverwalk for the Christmas lights. Leeanne (my friend we went to see) told me she wanted us to see the sunset and Christmas lights from Cross Mountain in Fredericksburg. We got ready to go and I was already unhappy I had to hike up a mountain in heels but I went along because she wanted me to go so bad. Before we started the trek up the mountain Leeanne asked me to go to the bathroom with her and the boys went ahead and went up. I was already somewhat curious as to what was going on because I could have SWORN I saw my dad and Heaths dad walking down the side of the road right before you get to Cross Mountain. Leeanne tried so hard to convince me it wasn't them. Anyways, we started our hike up the mountain and when we got to the top my family and Heaths family were at the top!! Heath was standing in the middle with the words "Marry Me" behind him and rose petals everywhere. Our favorite song was playing in the background and everyone had their cameras ready. It was the most romantic thing ever!! I never even expected that moment to happen during mine and Heaths favorite time of the year. It was so perfect.
