Sydney and Dion’s story began in 2016 at Seasons Catering the very place where they will say “I do.” Dion was working valet outside while Sydney worked inside as a bridal attendant. After spotting Sydney one night at work, Dion jokingly asked his coworker who “the serious looking girl” was and confidently said he was going to change her life. As it turns out, he was right. What started as hanging out with friends after work quickly turned into something more. Over time, their friendship grew into a relationship, and on February 27, 2017, they officially became a couple. Early in their relationship, Sydney and Dion spent their time making memories on city dates, walking through Central Park, taking trips down the Jersey Shore, and spending summer nights at baseball games despite Sydney being a Yankees fan and Dion a Mets fan. Some of their favorite memories were made during beach trips, especially nights at Jenks and Tiki Mondays with friends. Over the years, New York City became one of their favorite places together, and every Christmas season they continued the tradition of visiting the Rockefeller Christmas Tree together before heading to Chelsea Market for dinner. As the years passed, they became deeply woven into each other’s families and built a life side by side. In June 2020, they adopted their dog, Philip, who quickly became the center of their little family and one of their greatest joys. Dion patiently cheered Sydney on through college and graduate school, waiting for the day they could finally move into their first apartment together. Once that chapter was complete in 2025, Dion knew it was time for the next one. In August 2025, Sydney and Dion traveled to the Canary Islands for one of Sydney’s cousin’s weddings. While both of their families knew a proposal was coming, Sydney had no idea. Throughout the trip, Sydney’s family secretly helped Dion hide the ring and keep the surprise alive. After the wedding, the couple continued their vacation in Barcelona. On their last full day, while exploring Park Güell, Dion stopped to take a picture of Sydney. Instead of stepping back behind the camera, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Now, nearly a decade after first meeting at Seasons, Sydney and Dion cannot wait to celebrate the beginning of their forever in the exact place where their story first began.
