It all started September 29th, 2018. Sydney and David, strangers at the time, found themselves at the same crowded East Village bar, although if David’s grandparents ask, we met at a restaurant. Shouting above the loud music, David introduced himself. Despite the setting, we felt an instant connection and exchanged numbers. Our shared love for humor, music and food made for many fun dates early on. After getting to know each other better, we learned just how much we had in common. David grew up in New York City, and Sydney in Westchester, just outside the city. We both came from tight knit Jewish families, which of course meant we were both shipped off to sleepaway camp every summer. We both have a sibling very close in age, although Sydney won that contest at 2 minutes apart from her sister. And did we mention our shared sense of humor? We really like to laugh. Life progressed easily together- meeting each other’s friends and family, traveling, and eventually moving in together in February 2020. That timing meant we were going to find out very quickly whether our relationship worked. It all brought us closer together. A few years and one dog later, we’re ready to be husband and wife and continue laughing our way through life.
