We all know that Sydney is the strong independent type, and it wouldn't be appropriate if our story didn't start with her sending me a polite message asking how my day was going. Sydney was the smart, beautiful and intimidating classmate from the occupational therapy class above mine. She was also my TA (even though I decided I had better things to do than go to the classes she was leading). We would see each other at the gym and in class, but it wasn't until Dr. Sarah Nielsen "pressured" Sydney into messaging me :) We got to know each other well, and after time.... well, I guess that's what brings us here! Don't get me wrong, it wasn't all sunshine and roses. In the beginning, she never texted back (if any of you have texted Syd, you know what I am talking about). She would be very honest and not the warmest, and did move halfway across the country before we had even been dating a year. However, after time she did let down that tough exterior to allow me to help her and take lead on some things; emphasis on "some" :) It has been a wonderful journey getting to know Sydney and all of you, and I cannot wait for the rest of our lives together! It was an interesting start and only going to get better and more sarcastic from here!
Cody likes to tell people I didn't like him for the first two years of our relationship, but reality is, I was the one who noticed the cute, quiet guy in the class under me and decided to tell my professor I was crushing on him. Yes, yes he may have helped me move across the country while also chasing me airport to airport while I was traveling in a storm. Then he might have moved across the country while I told him I wouldn't live with him. BUT, I was the one who took the first step to pursue this relationship. :) Plus, in my defense, he did almost have me passed out in the middle of a field when he took me shooting on our first date! I like to think I was just being cautious for a little bit, keeping my guard up. Then, during the California COVID closures, I started to let that guard down and slowly moved my things into his little studio apartment. I began to admit to myself how crazy I was about this guy and that I really loved sharing my life with him. From the beginning, Cody has been patient and loving. He calms me down when I'm running around like a loon, cheers me up when I am missing all of you, encourages all my crazy ideas, and is always ready to take on an adventure with me. I couldn't imagine my life without him by my side, so here we are. We are ready to take on life's adventures together and make memories forever with all of our amazing family and friends.
