Things To Do

Rocky Mountain National Park

CO

We are very close to Estes Park, CO and the beautiful Rocky Mountain National Park. You will need a timed entry permit to visit the national park. You can book a timed entry permit up to 6 months in advance, which is a good idea for a weekend date as it often books out. Also, a select number of tickets open up at 8pm on the evening prior. If you are able to go during the week, it is less busy and would be a better experience. There are many hikes of all levels and incredible high elevation lakes and views. Bear Lake Loop is an easy route we recommend for families. Emerald Lake or Dream Lake are good moderately difficult options.

Hiking

CO

Devil's Backbone Open Space -- A hike to nearby to Loveland, CO. It is an easy level walk. Cool rock formations with a keyhole rock overlooking the mountains at the end. Check out Sweetheart Winery across the street afterwards! Viestenz-Smith Mountain Park Trail -- easy hikes up the Big Thompson Canyon outside of Loveland. This is where we did our engagement photos. Horsetooth Mountain Open Space -- hikes of moderate levels and a big reservoir near Fort Collins (~30min north of wedding activities)
