It’s funny how life has a way of bringing people together at just the right time. Cameron and I first crossed paths years ago, he’s friends with my older brother, so we saw each other here and there, but never really connected. That all changed during Mardi Gras 2023. We started getting closer, but I wasn’t in a place to start anything serious at the time. So, naturally, I pushed him away. Fast-forward to August of that year. I was moving back home from New Orleans after quitting my job and navigating a whirlwind of emotions. Knowing I needed a hand, my brother asked Cameron to help me move. Being the kind and dependable person he is, he showed up. And somewhere between packing boxes and unloading memories, we started talking again. A beach trip with friends, countless late-night texts, lengthy phone calls, and a couple of Studio Ghibli movies later, Cameron asked me out again. This time, it felt right. Our shared experiences, from the mundane to the extraordinary, have woven a unique bond between us. Since then, we’ve been pretty much inseparable. Through life’s inevitable ups and downs, things far beyond our control, one thing has remained constant: our love for each other. Every moment, every challenge, and every joy has only strengthened what we have. And now, we’ve taken the next big step, a step that requires courage and commitment, putting down on a fancy piece of paper what our hearts have known all along: this is forever. Come early May of this year, we joined together in a beautiful and intimate ceremony at Cameron's parents' home. Though we have already exchanged vows and promised one another forever, we would love for our extended family and friends to join us in a celebration of our new beginnings together in August.
