How We Met

08.2017

We met during our freshman year at Oklahoma State University in an organization called FRC. We didn't talk much during our first semester, but right before we left for Christmas break, Caleb began to start conversations and find ways to chat. Soon after, Caleb reached out to Sydney and asked to go on a date. Our first date was perfect and a memory we cherish still. We talked all afternoon and both knew our short friendship would soon turn into something more.

#Official

On our second date, Caleb asked if we could make this thing official. We had spent the day watching OSU basketball and ice skating, and it was the perfect time to become boyfriend and girlfriend! Sydney was giddy for the rest of the night. It was the best! From then on, there has been an abundance of laughter, joy, smiles, and intentional moments reflecting on the Lord's purpose for this relationship.

The Proposal

9.13.2020

If you know Sydney at all, you know she is the WORST at surprises-- giving and receiving. Everyone knew it would be incredibly difficult for Caleb to surprise her with a proposal, but he gave it his best shot. The week prior, Caleb told Sydney they would be going on two ~surprise~ dates, which seemed odd to begin with. Sydney became curious and asked friends and family if a proposal was upcoming, but of course everyone steered her in the wrong direction. After openly admitting to Caleb that she thought they were getting engaged, she was certain it wouldn't happen. Saturday night, after a nice dinner in Tulsa, Caleb took Sydney to the top of a parking garage and FAKE proposed, throwing her completely for a loop! The next day, Caleb asked Sydney to go to coffee and to take a "walk" at the Botanical Gardens in Stillwater. Caleb proposed to Sydney there and the two celebrated with friends and family. We are beyond excited to be getting married and to have you there to witness our covenant under God. We thank Him first and foremost for the things He has done in both of our lives and patiently await what He plans for us in marriage. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers as we continue through this season and welcome the blessings that God has so graciously given us!
