With full hearts and a little spontaneity, Sydney and Cale decided to elope. They exchanged vows at the Clay County Courthouse in Vermillion, joined by two of their closest friends. Now, one year later, they’re excited to celebrate their first wedding anniversary with all of you—the party they never had, with the people they love most.

During a trip to Marco Island, Florida, what began as a nice evening out became a night Sydney and Cale will both remember forever. After dinner, they strolled down to the beach to catch the sunset. As they walked closer to the water, Sydney spotted a giant heart drawn in the sand with the words “Marry Me?” inside. There, with the waves behind him and the sun sinking low, Cale got down on one knee and asked her to marry him again.
