We Can't Wait

It has been the most amazing first year of marriage and we are so lucky we were able to get married on 8/21/2020. It truly was the best day of our lives. But now, we get to celebrate with all of our friends and families and cannot wait to see you there!

How We Met

Fall Semester 2011

It was fall semester at WSU; Bryce enrolled in Human Anatomy, Sydney was the teachers assistant. Bryce sat in the front row that entire semester; and passed with 108% (but actually because Bryce is really intelligent).

First Date

December 2011

Bryce & Sydney texted non-stop over the Thanksgiving holiday, she teased that when she got back from break, her sorority had a Formal to which she didn't have a date for. Bryce brought back a dress shirt and tie to Pullman just in case she asked him, which she obviously did. The event was short, so they ended up splitting a bottle of Sweet Tea Carolina Vodka mixed with some Crystal Light and watched Zoolander, Dodgeball, and Signs.

Undergrad

2011-2013

Both Kinesiology majors, Bryce & Sydney had most classes together. B+S had fun at Cougar football games, date dashes, parties, and traveling to new places. Bryce even taught Sydney how to Ski in the winter of 2012-2013, his patience was incredible. They graduated from WSU on December 7, 2013 with aspirations of PT school.

PT School

2014-2017

What a stressful blessing PT school was. We both had aspirations to be physical therapists since high school, and here we were, together, paths crossed in undergrad at WSU and continuing to PT school at EWU together. We lived two miles apart, but spent nearly every moment together in class, studying, hanging out with friends, and crafting our microbrew taste. We had so much fun meeting new friends and growing as a couple towards our dream careers. The last year of PT school, Sydney had her internships in Portland, while Bryce was in Spokane, Seattle, and Sun Valley. While in Seattle, we saw each other nearly every other weekend and were able to explore the city together. B+S graduated in June 2017 and found out they passed their boards to become DPTs in Maui, Hawaii in July.

2017-2018

Coming Together

Bryce accepted a job in Spokane, WA while Sydney accepted one in Vancouver, WA. They spent 6 months apart which was very hard after 5 years together. Bryce decided to move to Vancouver to be with Sydney and accepted a position in March 2018. They got their first apartment together and it became home to them for 16 months.

The Proposal

March 29, 2019

Bryce always picks hikes. Always. So it was no surprise when we woke up on a Friday morning and Bryce had our backpacks ready to go on a hike as we do nearly every weekend. So off we went to Bells Mountain Trail. On the hike up, there was a break in the trees with a view of Mt. St. Helens. You could barely see it because of the cloud coverage, but Sydney took a photo anyways. Bryce suggested she wait until the hike back down to see if there were any clearance in cloud coverage. So we went through the remainder of the hike and on the way down at the same spot, Bryce asked Sydney to take another photo of Mt. St. Helens. She said no because it looked exactly the same as the hike up, but he asked her to take another for a "before and after" comparison. As she took the photo, he dropped to a knee and as she turned around there he was. Bryce said "I know you have waited a long time for this, will you marry me?". Best. Day. Ever. We then celebrated with a beer and surprise trip to Cannon Beach for the weekend. Even better, he planned to do it on this hike because it was one of our first hikes together.

House & Hank

Summer & Fall 2019

In June 2019 we bought our little cutie of a house in Sydney's hometown. We have made a lot of updates but it is a work in progress and are continually putting in time and effort to make it perfect for us. A few months later, we decided "hey why not" to finally pulling the trigger and getting a pup. We got to bring Hank home on October 4, 2019 and this was also the best day ever but also the best decision ever.
