Our story began on June 4, 2020—Sydney’s 21st birthday—when we both found ourselves out in Hudson, Wisconsin. We had met a few times through our best friends, Isabel and Baley, who were dating at the time—but that night was when our love story truly began. A drink or two at Hudson Tap, a little flirting, and a kiss at the end of the night, our story officially began. About a month later, on July 9, 2020, we went on our first official date. What was supposed to be an hour or two turned into more than four hours of sitting and talking in downtown Stillwater. By the end of the night, it was clear this was the start of something special. One date led to many more as Brock moved to Minneapolis and Sydney wrapped up her senior year at the University of Minnesota. In June 2022, after dating for a few years and Sydney finishing her undergraduate degree at the U of M, she moved to Iowa to begin PA school. Long distance wasn’t always easy, but we made seeing each other a priority—Brock traveling to Iowa and Sydney driving back to Minnesota, usually twice a month. Over those 22 months, from August 2022 to June 2024, we learned how to truly show up for each other, value quality time, and make every visit feel like a date night. In June 2024, Sydney wrapped up living in Iowa for PA school, and we finally moved in together in Northeast Minneapolis. After living in different states for so long, being under the same roof made everything feel even sweeter. Going from seeing each other every other weekend to being together every day has been the best thing—and it somehow keeps getting better. All that was missing was a ring. That changed on August 15, 2025, when Brock proposed to Sydney in Boston and (tried to) surprise her with both of our families there. We spent the weekend exploring what quickly became one of our favorite cities with some of our favorite people. It was truly one of the best days ever… until September 19, 2026. We are so excited to continue growing together and make new memories as we begin this next chapter.
