Our Engagement Video
Sydney and Braydon’s love story began on the Brigham Young University campus in August of 2024—proof that even your least favorite class can lead you to your forever person. At first, they weren’t fans of each other at all. They spent more time teasing and giving each other a hard time than anything else, even while secretly paying attention to one another. It definitely wasn’t a love story… yet. That started to change when Braydon began sliding up on Sydney’s Instagram stories, including his infamous “Goodlahoma, Oklahoma, or Badlahoma?” message—which he thought was hilarious and she definitely did not. The next semester, they tried to go on dates—Topgolf, the gym—but nothing ever worked out. Then Sydney went home to Oklahoma for the summer, and while Braydon remembered they said they’d hang out when she got back, Sydney didn’t think much of it. During a quick trip back to Utah for UVU Dance Team media day, she posted that she was in town. Braydon immediately replied, “You’re in Utah and didn’t tell me?” to which she said, “The night’s still young”—even though it was 10 PM and he had just been at his brother’s wedding all day. Somehow, that led to a late-night trip to WinCo for ice cream and energy drinks with his roommate, Cubby… which turned into Sydney inviting herself over and the two staying up all night talking. She pulled an all-nighter before heading straight to the airport. After that night, they talked every single day. A month later, Braydon flew Sydney out for the Fourth of July for their first real date, spending a whole week together after all the late-night calls. By the end of the trip, he was ready to say “I love you,” but Sydney stopped him, hoping he’d ask her to be his girlfriend first. Of course, he made her wait another month. Once they were finally back in the same state, he made it official—and not long after, it was clear this was something special. After eight months of being inseparable, Braydon got down on one knee and asked Sydney to spend forever with him… and she said yes. 🤍
