Question

Why a weekend wedding at camp?

Answer

Camp Ocoee is the place that brought us together. We've both made incredible memories there and would love to make some more; this time with our friends and family! Look forward to a fun weekend of outdoor activities that culminates in our wedding ceremony!

Question

What should I bring?

Answer

- Clothes/shoes for outdoor activities - Swimsuit if you'd like to go in the lake - A towel (or two) - Clothes that you feel good in (for the wedding/reception) - Umbrella or raincoat, just in case! - A sweatshirt or coat, just in case! **IF YOU'RE STAYING AT CAMP IN AN OPEN-AIR CABIN** You will need to bring your own bedding: Pillow, twin sheets/blanket/sleeping bag

Question

Can I bring my own water and food? (snacks)

Answer

Sure! You can bring snacks and beverages as long you Leave No Trace and the drinks are not alcoholic.

Question

What should I NOT bring?

Answer

Alcohol! There is no alcohol allowed within YMCA Camp Ocoee. There will be plenty of alcohol provided at the reception outside of camp. We also want to make everyone aware that this is a child-free wedding and reception: Only those age 16 or older are being asked to attend. We want our guests to treat this weekend as a kind of "mini-vacation" where they can spend time hanging out with other adults and having a great time. Leave those kiddos at home and kick back with us for a bit!

Question

What's the ceremony/reception dress code?

Answer

We plan to dress up a bit, but we want everyone to wear what they feel best in. Stable heels/flats will be safest for the terrain, and a jacket or extra layer for the evening is recommended. Keep in mind that it will likely be warm during the day and a little chilly into the night. Our ceremony will be outdoors (weather permitting) with a tent set aside for bad weather.

Question

Can I get a copy of the camp map, directions, schedule, etc.?

Answer

You can download digital versions of everything (great to save on your phone for when you get to camp) here: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/h44yhwya7i8sj46nq7zgt/AGLgu4nT4m0Q1xHMM2F9CLY?rlkey=gflhq62sxk9dmw8pm7i8perno&st=m9l62kq2&dl=0

Question

What's the weather like in Ocoee?

Answer

In September, temperatures in Ocoee, TN typically range from a high of 86°F to a low of 62°F. It's also the driest month on average in Tennessee, and is said to "generally feel pleasantly warm/humid but cool in the evenings."
