We met while serving missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Knoxville, Tennessee! We served around each other for three months and didn't think anything of it. Three months later, Sydnee returned home and reached out to Mac just for fun... We ended up emailing for the next 6 months until Mac came home! We both moved to Provo for school and started dating from there:)

While at school, we worked on the same temple shift. After our temple shift one week, Mac needed his backpack, which he "accidentally" left in his friend McKay's car. So we went to McKay's location to get Mac's backpack before we had dinner plans with Mac's sister and brother-in-law. McKay's car ended up being parked on a gravel road in the middle of Utah Lake... suspicious. But the view was amazing and the sun was setting. Mac got his backpack and sneakily pulled a little box out of it and proposed! Our dinner plans ended up including all of Mac's family and Sydnee's parents from Idaho!!
