Our story began long before either of us knew it would lead here. We first crossed paths in middle school, often running into each other at school sporting events, unaware of what the future would hold. Everything changed our freshman year of high school when we were seated next to each other in Spanish class. What started as casual conversation quickly turned into something more, and during the very first week of school, we officially began talking. On August 31, 2018, Luc asked Sydnee to be his girlfriend at a school football game, marking the beginning of our relationship. What began as a young high school relationship grew into a partnership built on years of shared memories, growth, and commitment. Our journey included four years of long distance while Sydnee attended the University of Iowa, learning how to support one another from afar. Through both joyful moments and challenging seasons, our relationship continued to grow stronger. With Sydnee graduating this May and returning home to be with Luc, we are excited to begin the next chapter of life together in the same place, just as we always envisioned. On January 5, 2025, Luc asked Sydnee to spend forever with him while visiting his family in South Africa, a place deeply meaningful to him and unforgettable for both of us. What began when we were fourteen years old came full circle, turning years of memories, growth, and commitment into a promise for the future.
